The Cleveland Cavaliers are aiming to hand the Golden State Warriors their first losing skid this season when they face off at the Quicken Loans Arena on Monday.
The Cleveland Cavaliers and Golden State Warriors meet for the second time this season.
The NBA-best Warriors (37-4) began their three-game trip with a 95-113 beating at Detroit on Saturday. The defending champions lost despite fielding a full-strength roster led by the Big Three of Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green. Curry drilled seven three-pointers and finished with 38 points while Thompson added 24 but their efforts were not enough as they absorbed their second defeat in three games.
The Cavaliers (28-10), meanwhile, closed out a six-game trip with a 91-77 win at Houston on Friday. Kyrie Irving topscored with 23 points while LeBron James had 19 points, seven rebounds and seven assists. JR Smith added 13 points while Kevin Love had 11 points and 13 rebounds. The Eastern Conference leaders have won nine of their last 10 games.
Golden State defeated Cleveland 89-83 at the Oracle Arena last Christmas Day in their first meeting since the Warriors defeated the Cavaliers in last season's NBA Finals.
