It is not a myth that the certain look of your home can aid you lose unwanted fats. However, this does not literally mean that once you are done redesigning or rearranging your interior, you would lose pounds just like that, although carrying some heavy weight could tone down muscles. The truth is if you make a few adjustments to how your home looks like, you could be more inspired to get fitter and healthier. This is more of a change in the mindset to get you on your feet and start eating healthy and exercising more.
What you always need to do is always keep countertops clean. According to Tribune[3], cleaning countertops should not be taken the literal way, although making it spic and span could be good for the hygiene. Cleaning means, not stuffing your countertops with the unhealthiest of food. Instead, adorn it with gadgets or utensils that are commonly used in making healthy food and drinks like a blender, juicer, or a fruit bowl. With this, you will be more inspired to go the healthy path.
In relation to the first tip, clean your refrigerator as well. Stock it with a lot of healthy food, home cooked veggies, plain yogurt, and fruits. Place these health-inducing nourishment at the center rack of your refrigerator so that you could easily see them and take them out. The problem with placing veggies and fruits in the crisper is you might get lazy to bend down to get them.
Never paint your kitchen walls white. Many kitchens have white walls for a sleeker finish. However, if you want to shed fat[4], do not go for white walls. Brian Wansink, a professor at Cornell University, said that white walls could provoke you to eat more. On the other hand, the professor also mentioned that dark tones could also make you eat more as well. Stay with the green or earth tones so you won't have to eat a lot during mealtimes.
Lastly, create a bedroom environment that will help you sleep soundly. Based on studies, someone who has slept well during the night could make better choices when it comes to eating. Never place a distracting object like an electronic in your bedroom. Also, install softer lights in your bedroom to help you sleep better.
